Consider again the liquid-level control system described in P3.36. (a) Design a state variable controller using only h(t) as the feedback variable, so that the step response has an overshoot less than 10% and a settling time (with a 2% criterion) less than or equal to 5 seconds. (b) Design a state variable controller feedback using two state variables, level h{t) and shaft position 6(t), to satisfy the specifications of part (a), (c) Compare the results of parts (a) and (b).
