Mechanical energy losses in valves aremodeled by the equation:ghL = K(V22 ),where ghL is the mechanical energy loss and V is the flow velocityentering the valve. In a particular test, the pressure gage reads40 kPa, gage, and the 1.5-m3 catch tank fills in 2 min 55 s.Calculate the loss coefficient for a water temperature of 20 C.
