An incompressible fluid oscillates harmonically (V = V0sin t, where V is the velocity)

Chapter 7, Problem 7.62

(choose chapter or problem)

An incompressible fluid oscillates harmonically (V = V0sin t, where V is the velocity) with a frequency of 10 rad/s in a4-in.-diameter pipe. A 14 scale model is to be used to determine thepressure difference per unit length, p (at any instant) along thepipe. Assume thatp = f(D, V0, , t, , )where D is the pipe diameter, the frequency, t the time, thefluid viscosity, and the fluid density. (a) Determine the similarityrequirements for the model and the prediction equation for p.(b) If the same fluid is used in the model and the prototype, at whatfrequency should the model operate?
