Hands down the WORST professor I've ever had in my entire life, and I've completed 2 degrees and some grad school. Todd Donovan is a one of a kind professor. He is funny, nice, and responsible. He puts up slides, study guides, and always updates then about a week and a half before the test. During office hours he answered all my questions without distractions. He reviewed for tests, and was extremely helpful whenever I was confused. All around, he's my favorite prof at WWU! He is amazingly brilliant, down to earth, and goes out of his way to help students. He answers all questions, and never makes someone feel stupid for not understanding sometimes. Really tough grader. I studied a lot for this class and had a good handle on the material. Ended up getting B+ on all the essay exams. Dan is so helpful if you realize the options open to you. Dan gives 60 homework assignments, but only 40 of them are required for the class, where 10 are extra credit. 10 are throw a ways. I don't like most anthro profs at western, but rollins really was the highlight of my semester. I took this class as a GUR, and she made the topic interesting and engaging. Inconsistent disorganization. Don't try to disagree with her, because she will call you out, and then remind everyone about it for the remainder of the class period. Seems unprofessional. not understanding at all, she does not really care about her students, lectures are super scattered and irreverent to the reading she assigns. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER!! Rivera's class was... Unique, to say the least. Most people did so bad on the first test and homework she had to change up the grades. A 9am class like this was really hard. The prof was super nice and relaxed but in the end I actually skipped a lot. But, he always posts lectures online, gives you links to songs not provided on the discs, AND gives pretty clear study guides. Do that and you'll be fine. ...Continue reading

Ira is a riot. His lectures are absolutely engaging and entertaining because of his wit. He is a brilliant lecturer and very well versed in his field. This class was both parts easy and hard, because everyone came from different backgrounds with french and none had the same learning background. It's very frustrating how the lessons never make sense, and he just stares at you awkwardly for 15 seconds if you ask a question before moving on. He's just not good. I learned more from the book in an hour than 4 weeks of class. Not a review class if it's been awhile. Luc wasn't the best teacher, and wasn't very clear on answering questions at all. It was fast-paced & his lectures weren't even worth going to. Read the book for the 4 exams (no final) and you'll be ok. ...Continue reading

Chris was a smart guy, but you could tell he was a little bored teaching the basic level chem class. But he's very honest about his grading and lets you know when you need to know something and when you don't for exams. His lectures can drag on a bit because his voice is monotone, but the content is understandable if you can stay awake. Nice guy. He's a calm, composed guy who knows his stuff. He speaks slowly and clearly. Sometimes I got sleepy because his voice was so soothing, but that's his only downside. If you want a straight forward guy who gets the job done, Markworth is your man. ...Continue reading

Class is a joke. Don't waste your time taking this class. Professor Loucky doesn't post slides online and is incapable of using canvas. He's a really nice guy and is willing to help his students, but he has some major downfalls: he's late to every class, his tests are made from copies of copies of copies so it's hard to read them and he writes all over them in messy handwriting. Very passionate about the subject and his area of expertise. Tries very hard to make it interesting for those students that weren't very excited for the class when they signed up. WORTH TAKING. ...Continue reading

Really tough grader. I studied a lot for this class and had a good handle on the material. Ended up getting B+ on all the essay exams. I went to ask him what the grading criteria waswhat he's looking for in an A paper, he only said that my essay was one of the better ones, top three. It's pretty much impossible to get an A? Arbitrary grading. ...Continue reading

Dan is so helpful if you realize the options open to you. Dan gives 60 homework assignments, but only 40 of them are required for the class, where 10 are extra credit. 10 are throw a ways. So you could miss some assignments and not be negatively effected, crazy helpful if you think about it. ...Continue reading

I don't like most anthro profs at western, but rollins really was the highlight of my semester. I took this class as a GUR, and she made the topic interesting and engaging. He lectures were content heavy, so you had to go to class, but she provides detailed study guides so you know exactly what will be on the test. If you ever have to take an anthropology class, I would definitely recommend her! ...Continue reading

I dropped the class because I knew I could not get better than a D and I am usually a A student. Seriously take this class with another professor, avoid her! ...Continue reading

Rivera's class was... Unique, to say the least. Most people did so bad on the first test and homework she had to change up the grades. We were told scantron for our first exam, but were given something entirely different, which rubbed a lot of students the wrong way. It was clear it was her first time teaching, but she was really nice. ...Continue reading

He genuinely wants his students to succeed and is more than willing to go over topics during his office hours (this is recommended as his exams are not a breeze). I will miss this class! ...Continue reading

Andrew was great! I have never been that great at math but he made it SO easy to understand. He's the best math prof I've ever had! He is so good at explaining things in detail but not taking too much time on one subject. He was always ready to answer any questions and was never condescending to students. Very spunky, and very worth the 8am class. ...Continue reading

Class is a joke. Don't waste your time taking this class. Professor Loucky doesn't post slides online and is incapable of using canvas. Students had to get up in the middle of class to help him work his computer. He also goes off on tangents when lecturing and ends up somewhere that in no way connects to anything. No study guides either. ...Continue reading

He's a really nice guy and is willing to help his students, but he has some major downfalls: he's late to every class, his tests are made from copies of copies of copies so it's hard to read them and he writes all over them in messy handwriting. He takes a really long time to send out our results, and doesn't use canvas at all. Do not buy the book ...Continue reading
