UCF is what you make of it. Hire all researchers as profs (to get federal funding), and none are good at teaching. you're totally on your own. better off w/ a book by yourself--I paid to be taught and got nothing in return. I don't think I've ever seen a smiling grad student - sad Which doesn't seem to be rated by this site. I am in Computer Science and the professors for this course of study are low quality. While they are smart and know their fields. They just cannot teach it to anyone. I have not learned anything here that will help with my career. ...Continue reading

Beautiful campus, plenty of places to work on homework/study even with such a large number of students. My first one was on campus in person and i loved it. I graduated the first time in 2011 and i am finally going back for my second degree this time as an online learner. I have never had any problems If you just go to your classes and come straight home you'll have an okay experience, but if you really put yourself out there to do activities and make friends, It'll be the best years of your life. A lot of opportunities, some great professors, ton of clubs, beautiful campus with a great layout, a lot of housing options both on and off campus, 20 minutes from downtown, 45 minutes from theme parks, caring staff It looses its charm after a few years though, just like anywhere you go. They always find a way to charge you extra fees if possible. UCF is one big money-making machine. Most faculty (there are exceptions) care little about the students and simply want to play academic all day and get a paycheck. The truly good profs are fantastic. Avoid the Mathematics department at all costs. Although there are some good people, most of them are awful teachers. Seems like the teachers who could not make it at Valencia ended up at UCF. Nothing but problems here from the lack of good classes to constant issues with financial stuff. Location is terrible, somewhere on the outskirts of Orlando. My only complaints are minor: not enough parking (they're building more but for now you can't get a spot after 10am) & poor internet (in certain buildings there's no wifi and even my mobile's 4G can't connect). It's great here, don't let anything tell you otherwise. I started my first year in 2011 and finishing in spring 2015 (you can finish!) I'm going to miss this place so much. Our campus is so beautiful and manicured, the surrounding area has endless things to do. There's tons of opportunities for academic and professional growth! And the people are outgoing and lifelong friends! Go knights!!! ...Continue reading

The best school for me to come to graduate school. The location could not be more perfect (having DisneyWorld up their sleeve is a pretty neat trick) and the people could not be warmer. They also have a Chocolate Club. I rest my case. ...Continue reading

There are three group projects that are mandatory, attendance is also 100 points which can hurt your grade if you dont go. It is not a hard class if you go but can be made hard if you dont. I would not recommend. ...Continue reading

She is so sweet but the class might kill you a little. She explains everything so its not like you're alone and she doesn't mind repeating something for her students. Lab was online took like 1-2 hours depending on the lab. Don't recommend taking if you're not a science/med major. You will have to work hard for your grade but she is always willing to help! Do your lab assignments, go to sarc sessions, and pay attention in class and you will do fine! ...Continue reading

Her accent is hard to understand, her lecture outlines are really unclear when it comes time to study for the test. Dr. Williams is truly passionate about this career field, and it is inspirational. She is understanding that she assigns a lot of work (yes, she does know it and knows you have other classes), but it will all be useful in the next two classes and during internship. Just communicate with her and the class is easy. She also has the best reading voice ...Continue reading

Overall, pretty easy course. He grades attendance daily. The class average for the 2 tests were C's, 2 quizzes are easy A's, and hes a very lenient grader for your 2 essays. He gives one extra credit opportunity of a 25 point paper (class is 1000pts). Definitely an easy B. The tests were a little challenging but other than that the course was easy. ...Continue reading

The only reason you really need to go to class is for iclicker points because her review guides cover the tests, and those answers come straight from her power points, but at the same time, her lectures are great, and you can tell she's passionate about what she does, so you actually want to go and learn from her. Never went to class. Exams are off of the quizzes (which you get two tries on). One exam is dropped. Easy grader on random assignments (such as making a food log). I failed my third exam and still got an A in the class without having to take the final. No textbook and notes are posted online. Highly recommend. Everything based off of her slides and in-class lectures. Really inspirational professor, committed to her job and involvement with students. Extremely nice and young (so she relates to students). Extra credit is great (and fun) because exams are a bit difficult. ...Continue reading

He's supposed to be talking about ANCIENT civilizations, yet goes off an tangent after tangent about his own political views, shoveling propaganda and conspiracy theories into everyone's minds.
