    I am ending my first year at ball state and I hated it at first, but now I love it. There are lots of choices for students. Muncie was hit hard by poverty, so the town is a bit run down, but the college's presence is helping it recover. People on campus are actually pretty friendly and very accepting of different people. Hit or miss with the professors (although usually on the better side), and the internet is a pain, but the social aspects of campus and campus itself is very nice. 45 in my books. ...Continue reading

    Some buildings are falling apart. It offers a lot of opportunities to get involved. The food here is amazing. We have Papa Johns, Chic-Fil-A, Taco Bell, Quiznos, Starbucks, and Boars Head Deli.     Great atmosphere all around. If it feels right, it feels right. Also, there's a decent geek-population. We do zombie apocalypse simulations. It's pretty cool.     Ball State was the best decision I've ever made. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Campus is beautiful and everything is centrally located. All classes can be walked to within 10-15 minutes.     I don't regret going here, not even for a second! Just like any other school Ball State has it's pros and cons but it I couldn't have picked a better school for me. The food is great, the people here are awesome, and I'm having a blast. The issue, most of the time, are the professors. Ball State uses industry professionals to teach courses, so we can learn what it's like to be in the field.     Muncie is a great place. I am in the music program, which is extremely difficult so beware. The wifi is about 50/50, sometimes its fine but other times it sucks.     The housing options for students in this city are awful. I would highly recommend having a car and looking into safety when moving of campus.     I loved my time at Ball State. This university really builds the Muncie community. The atmosphere is great and the professors are quite knowledgeable in their respective fields.     Other nearby (and smaller) schools such as IU East offer many more activities to engage their students such as concerts. They are very unhelpful and sometimes reluctant to help. If you are an organized and self sufficient person you will be alright! This was the most terrible decision of my life to attend this school.     Ball State is a great college with a great campus, until you want to use the internet. The way meal plans are done is a scam though. Some residence halls are great, but others are outdated. I would recommend Ball State, especially if you get accepted into the honors college. It's really what you make of it and nothing stops you from having an amazing college experience.     Campus is beautiful, small enough that all your classes are less than a 10 minute walk, but big enough that its filled with opportunities to get involved and make tons of friends.     Great school, not safe area outside campus. It is top rated in Indiana for those majors. Muncie is a complete armpit. Greek life is growing but not dominate.     Lots of diversity in outlooks of life makes this campus unique As a recent graduate, I couldn't be happier with the education I've received from the faculty. I've made lifelong connections in academia and social organizations. Get involved! There's tons to do! Muncie leaves quite a bit to be desired.     There just not much going on for Ball State. IU and Purdue are leagues away from BSU. The professors are really mediocre, the honors program is a joke, and it really does feel a bit like high school. Tons of easy majors like PR/Journalism, and Teaching so its a lot less studying and a lot more PARTYING. It shuts down on the weekends. People who do live here go home every weekend. I am from out of state and regret choosing ball state because everyone is from Indiana and live with people from high school, then go home every weekend.     There just not much going on for Ball State. IU and Purdue are leagues away from BSU. The professors are really mediocre, the honors program is a joke, and it really does feel a bit like high school. Tons of easy majors like PR/Journalism, and Teaching so its a lot less studying and a lot more PARTYING. It shuts down on the weekends. People who do live here go home every weekend. I am from out of state and regret choosing ball state because everyone is from Indiana and live with people from high school, then go home every weekend.     There isn't much transperency to the students. It's perfect size big enough that you meet someone new everyday, but small enough that you frequently run into people that you know/recognize. There's a huge sense of community on campus, but as soon as you leave, it's another world. Ball State and Muncie? Completely different ! ...Continue reading
