As a person of colour from an urban area, Notre Dame was a culture shock. There's always something going on, and something to eat, and even without Greek life, there's always a party on the weekends (excluding finals and midterms). However, the amount of resources available and the number of groups on campus targeting diversity issues and inclusion are innumerable. After a semester, you get used to the atmosphere and the location. There also isn't a need to go off campus because of the safety on campus! ...Continue reading

ND is great on school spirit! Classes are extremely interesting and fun, but challenging. Socially this is the perfect school for people who either party all the time or don't go out at all. It is easy to fit in with the unique dorm system. ...Continue reading

I am severely disappointed in my education here. At a graduate level I would expect my classes to demand more of me and better prepare me for a career. Instead they ride on their previous reputation to attract elite students who will carry the school's facade. The school covers up crimes on campus, and I suspect they scrub bad reviews as well. ...Continue reading

You either love it here or you don't. There really isn't a middle ground. For some reason, strangers suddenly think its OK to ask about your religious beliefs, and it can be very uncomfortable if you aren't Catholic/Christian. Additionally, there are religious components to many non-theology courses, such as professors leading prayers at the beginning of class. ...Continue reading

Transferred here because it was my dream school and I have zero regrets! The community is fantastic, and I couldn't have asked for a better college experience Complained about a few things here and there when I was a student then went somewhere else for grad school and missed Notre Dame's campus, education quality, food--well, basically everything--every day. ...Continue reading

Overall, could be better. Go Ivy if possible. One downside is the jock culture. If you're not into men's football or basketball, don't bother coming nearly every guy is obsessed with it. Pretending to be interested will be exhausting. Single sex dormsfaux fraternities/sororities. Basically, it's a smaller state school, with Catholicism. But South Bend is not a college town. There are some good places to eat but you'll have to pay. Not a whole lot going on outside of house parties if you're into the rager scene. ...Continue reading

Notre Dame is the best school ever. Profs and admins really care about the students (plenty of help available, invites to dinner, etc.). ND needs to continue to improve it's diversity across the board, but it's got the right people in place and they're working hard at it. So glad I came here!
