The surrounding city is boring people who think it is fun have never lived outside of Laredo. Seriously, they make you take a writing test to graduate. If you passed 8th grade English you should be able to pass this test, yet 50% of the students can not pass after three years of college. Something is very wrong here. TAMIU is like high school again: education standards are low, classes are easy, and you dont learn much. Students are generally unmotivated and leave as soon as class ends. Campus is too hot for hanging out. Glad I transferred to another school. ...Continue reading

There's a lot of amazing professors here, and the price point definitely is a MAJOR plus. It is growing every year and they try to add something once in a while. The professors are nice and really help you on passing their courses. Laredo is a small city, but its okay. Go to Taco Palenque! #TPS ...Continue reading

beautiful campus with tons of wildlife! Participation is low so when you do participate expect people to be very encouraging. The meal options are limited but at least it's not public-school quality. Safe and inviting in a Jane Doe of a town. Classes are quality and vary in intensity, but nothing to die of. ...Continue reading

TAMIU is great if you want to study abroad, major in nursing ,or major in business. However, there's very little diversity in culture - the school is more than 90% Hispanic and not much else. This school has the opportunity to be great - expanding programs and student opportunities would definitely put TAMIU on the map. College is not meant to be easy. A handful of people I have had classes with cant even write a research paper in the correct format. Classes are not hard but do require a lot of work and commitment. TAMIU is a very affordable school. ...Continue reading

Really shouldn't have the A&M title, some professors are great, but most don't seem to care. I respect what they are trying to do but the quality of education is low. I never feel challenged, you may get homework and assignments but no direction. I like to learn and after going elsewhere I found what I had been missing. The city in general is very dull. Campus is boring and buildings are dated. ...Continue reading

Attended for Undergrad and Grad school. As I increased in level, the Psych program revealed the low quality level of demand that its professors had from their students.
