I LOVE SLU!!!! The people really make it what it is - warm, lively, and just an all-around great place to be. It is such a great place to go to school. There are so many opportunities to get involved and find out who you are as a person. There is a place for everyone to fit in somewhere at SLU. From what I've seen, faculty and staff are super nice and willing to work with the students. There are some safety issues as it is an urban campus, but I've always felt well-cared for by DPS. ...Continue reading

Transferred here from another school, am absolutely in love with this place. The beauty of SLU is that no matter who you are you will find at least one other person with that same interest. I love living in the city, there's always so much to do! Also, this year they just changed their food options and it is amazing, you should get a plan with plenty of FLEX. The campus is absolutely gorgeous. Greek life isn't too big on campus, which I find to be a good thing. BE A BILLIKEN! GO SLU! ...Continue reading

Location is in downtown St. Louis, which is not the safest. The school is well known but the academics are subpar. Everyone there believes they go to an elite school when in reality it is average/below-average. If you are not involved in Greek life or any club, you are pretty much on your own. Love the location and the campus is very well kept! The professors love their students and are passionate about their subjects. The people on campus are also all very nice and genuinely on the students side. There is always lots of opportunities no matter your interests or career aspirations! The metro is very close, and although some may argue it's unsafe to walk off of campus it is definitely not as big of a concern, in my opinion, as people make it out to be. All the PTS love her, she is always available to help and answer questions, and one of the best professors I have had. Lots of the reviewers on here don't enjoy chemistry and are rating the class and content and not her as a teacher. Lots of people don't know how to respect a teacher teaching a difficult class. Not sure why her rating is so low. You can tell she genuinely cares about students. Study for exams because they are difficult. However if you utilize all the prep material (SI sessions/practice tests) you will be prepared. Flipped class style, but I learned all I needed through lecture and notes. Encourages questions and loves to help students. ...Continue reading

Sahar is an amazing teacher, really cares about her students and that they do well. i would take a class with her again, this lady is really great. she is funny, but not in the dumb i'm trying to be cool way and she picks on people to share their opinions, so watch out for that She genuinely cares about her students and actually remembers what being in college is like. She assigns light reading (max 3 pages of stuff we are actually going to talk about) and the homework load is not too bad either. Be prepared to think! ...Continue reading

Nicest professor I have ever had. The professor is clear, will repeat himself in lecture and is a boss like Daredevil. The tests and quizzes are open book essays, and there is one research term paper. There are readings and discussion on it everyday, but I never even bought the textbooks and still got an A. He's passionate about history and easily explains events to the class. Tests are open-book essays. One final 8 page research paper on a topic of your choice. I'd definitely recommend him. ...Continue reading

Dr. Ruff is a great guy. He's so excited about what he's teaching that he makes you interested in it too! THEO 1000 with Prof. Townsend was the hardest course I've taken at SLU so far. He was nice and laid back. You do have to get together in groups often and debate about topics. Participation is the key to a good grade. Credo outline and paper is the only written assignments due. Homework assignments for every single class and a huge and hard final paper. It is indeed a very hard class, but is one of the classes that I learned the most from. Made me think a lot and explore a world I didn't know that existed. ...Continue reading
