SUU does well with what it has, but the school is tiny (anthro has 2 professors) and Cedar is tiny. Compared to other schools, its exactly the same as UVU and BYU, places like that. It'll throw scholarships at you though, thats nice. but you'd probably be better off staying where you are and going to a school around home. ...Continue reading

the professors are aweful and the campus presidency sucks. I'd be better off at another state school like the UofU or USU. I thought the small size would suit me, but the school has limited options. The town is way boring and cold. Prospects are grim. Go somewhere else! ...Continue reading

The smokers on this campus are disrespectful and smoke close to the entrances, even though that is illegal, the law is not enforced. From Generals to classes in my major, I find it exhilarating and exciting to go to class. The professors are easy to work with, but don't put up with crap. Which I love. They know what they are teaching, but go above and beyond because they relate well--on the student's level. Everywhere is beautiful and well-maintained, and there is always an event of some sort to help get you involved. The library is always warm and always study-ready. ...Continue reading

Love the small town feel and how the community supports the school. They focus everything on their students and try to provide as many opportunities as possible for them. Loved the professors, the pool, and the charming campus. The only downside is how small Cedar is, but you get the Shakespeare festival and St. George nearby. Great university!!!! ...Continue reading

This is a high quality school in the middle of nowhere. I absolutely LOVE all the psychology and PE professors and the student support center is so wonderful! They've been there to help me through the rough patches and celebrate the good times! And last but not least...GO SOUTHERN UTAH THUNDERBIRDS!!!! &lt3 I love the campus and the faculty. Cedar City is probably the worst college town in Utah. One of my favorite things is the location, we are so close to lots of national parks. However, Cedar City itself is a small college town, so good luck finding a job. Not much socially goes on except for the usual frat parties and sports games. Overall, SUU is pretty great! ...Continue reading

SUU is a smaller university, and so the details fit into that. The social environment is not very good in town or on campus. Not a whole lot of diversity. Big adjustment coming from a bigger city to Cedar City, as expected, but more so than i previously thought. Great people, mediocre food options. If you're from out-of-state like me it's not worth spending the money to go here when you can go elsewhere in the state. Social scene is dismal, clubs virtually don't exist, and get ready to spend your weekends at a local park, Wal-Mart, or with hicks. ...Continue reading

SUU has some incredible faculty that is often more than willing to help students build opportunities. If you like to be outside it is a great school! Really close to mountains. Professors here are generally good about being helpful and they have small classes. It is a small campus making getting to your next class convenient. However, the administration doesn't really hear students and address needs of the student body. I found Professor Lyman's class to be very informative. She is very upbeat and kind. She teaches in a way that is easy to understand and helped if you didn't. Easily one of my favorite classes. I thought she was fair in her grading. I liked the way she used power point slides and tested off of the lectures and slides. She has a fun and upbeat personality and taking the class was a pleasure. I also liked that she used an online book so we didn't have to spend a fortune buying one. ...Continue reading

I really felt like he made complex concepts easy to understand and work with. There are lots of demonstrations that make understanding easier. Homework is focused on what we talked about that day and it really helps solidify the knowledge necessary to do well in this course. However the homework does not go well with the lecture or prepare me well for the test. The homework is often very time consuming and seems pointless and unrelated to his tests and quizzes. ...Continue reading

Dr. Wiggins is by far the best physics professor at SUU. He likes making lectures enjoyable by using humor throughout and by using interesting demos. He sometimes isn't very clear when he lectures. But he is very willing to work with you and answer your specific questions if you visit him during office hours. He is very fair and actually cares about his students' success. ...Continue reading

Professor Wiggins is the man. Though physics itself was hard & not an enjoyable subject, Wiggins made it much more tolerable & understandable. He made due dates & tests very doable. He understood how busy college students were & made sure to not drown us in misery. Homework about every night but only due once a week. Was great about outside help. Definitely one of the best professors on campus. ...Continue reading

He knows people have other classes that they may prioritize more, so he tries to keep that in mind while still teaching the most important parts of the class. I really like Prof Wiggins. He still remembers the perspective of the students and because of that he is very relatable and understanding Andy realistic in his expectations. Funny. Constantly makes jokes and doesn't take himself too seriously. The course is still tough because the subject matter requires a lot of work. We have an object lesson everyday in class which usually involves combustion!! :) Our very first day, we were covering easy topics such as displacement. To teach this, he used analogies such as as hobbit traveling to Mordor. ...Continue reading

Nice lady. Very kind. Knows the subject matter. Tries to make things interesting and fun but it was a little boring for me. TONS of optional extra credit so it's ok if you don't test well.
