Western is beautiful with fantastic Greek life and tailgating. There are endless opportunities for those who seek it out and generally good professors. The biggest weakness on campus is HRL and parking, but they are building another parking structure and updating the dorms. It is a great place to spend four years. Theres nothing better to do on the weekends but to party. Thats why WKU is known for parties. The campus is beautiful. But off campus is boring. Theres nothing to do. The mall is okay. Love it here- would highly recommend, only real downside is the location Walking up and down the hill can be a pain - learn to use the buses (NextBus is crucial). Bowling Green is a nice college town, has all the amenities you'd want. My only regret was not getting here sooner. Feels like home. Outstanding professors for the most part, genuinely want to help you learn and will go the extra mile for you if you meet them halfway. Plus the campus is absolutely beautiful. Mrs. Miick is by far the worst professor I have taken so far. She relies on lectures to teach her class and then assigns homework that very well may not have been taught in class. Tests make up quite a large portion of your overall grade, so doing well on the tests is a must. Avoid taking. Acts as if her class is the only class that you are taking. ...Continue reading

I would defiantly take Mr. Yeater for eng200 again, there is four 300-400 word essays, which is where most of your grades come from and as long as you have a clear answer and supporting details from the text then its an A. there is a lot of reading in his class but you get to watch Star Wars ...Continue reading

Professor Olive gives lots of homework, he takes off points for missing class, he only puts test grades on blackboard until the end of the semester. He makes you study even on holiday weekends, he never cancels class not even when there is potential for tornadoes, he does let you out of class before 8:15 though. It was hard to study for tests because he gave a lot of material to study, so it was all over the place. Difficult class and I would not recommend taking him. I hated it! He did know a lot about the industry though. That is one plus, but he just did not know how to teach it very well. ...Continue reading

The only thing about Turley is she cares a lot about English which means she is a very tough grader and gives a lot of detailed assignments. I had to ask many questions throughout the semester and her email responses were almost always rude. The homework and tests aren't hard as long as you read the assigned readings but she grades her papers really tough. Don't recommend. But she didn't really take time to teach anything about the paper, just gives you a handout and tells you to read. Expects way to much out of one person who had other classes to attend as well. And slightly crude. She takes way too long to grade papers and exams and she obviously doesn't like men. Professor hagaman has been by far my favorite and the best professor I have had at WKU. He really enjoys Literature. You discuss the readings thoroughly and it is interesting. There are no tests in the class. You have a short quizzes over the reading every class but he drops the 9 lowest quiz grades. You have 4 essays and one 5 page analysis paper, but you can choose whatever topic. Easy class! He truely wants his students to learn, even if you are not intrested in literature. He isn't intrested in facts, just the message. Great guy! ...Continue reading

Took his Monsters themed class online. Instead we were all over the board. He seems to want to focus in on feminist and queer theory.
