beware of the parking services! Downtown has so much to offer for the artsy community, everything is in walking distance if you're hardcore enough, and I feel like I have enough friends around me to watch my back. Profs at Western are a mixed bag, but overall I've had a great time here. Parking is ridiculous! You literally have to hunt people down walking to their cars and students are constantly late because there aren't any spots for parking. But other than those two things, WMU is a wonderful school with a beautiful campus. Go Broncos! ...Continue reading

I didn't know how much I would love WMU when I first committed last year. I am so happy I chose to go here. Great four years. We have excellent programs such as Engineering, Education, and Aviation. We're a top university and everyone here seems to enjoy it. We're a school that works just as hard as any other and plays just like any other. We're more than just a party school. ...Continue reading

Dorms are awful. It is what you make it. Although I don't recommend this school. Most of their programs lack depth, and their advisers don't like to help out beyond just CC'ing some one else in the email to answer your questions. I took many classes I didn't even need, because of the advisers here. 17 Credit hrs in the hole Definitely lives up to its party school reputation. Some teachers are nice but the rest don't care at all. The grading system sets you up to fail. There are lots of opportunities but fitting in is not easy here. Being one of the few students to be from a city actually bigger than Kalamazoo, I have to say there's nothing to do there, it's a tiny city with maybe 100,000 people (but bad traffic). If you're seeking a 4 year degree take as many classes as you can at KVCC. The instructors there are completely on par with Western and a fraction of the price. Had some cool instructors that cared about your success, but so does KVCC! Advising offices are a GOD SEND, utilize them. I took his honors microeconomics course, and he is a great teacher who connects microeconomics to your daily life. All tests and quizzes were online and can be taken twice (even the final). iClicker points count as 10% of grade so try to make it to class as much as possible. Extra credit offered. He doesn't like when people sit in the back, which is inevitable with 250 students in the class. He said he didn't a microphone but he was difficult to hear.
