Heating a home. Exercise 4.27 (page 110) gives data on degree-days and naturalgas consumed by the Sanchez home for 16 consecutive months. There is a verystrong linear relationship. Mr. Sanchez asks, If a month averages 20 degree-daysper day (thats 45F), how much gas will we use? Use your calculator or softwareto find the least-squares regression line and answer his question. Based on ascatterplot and r 2, do you expect your prediction from the regression line to bequite accurate? Why?
