For the reaction
\(\mathrm{H}_{2}(g)+\mathrm{C}_{2} \mathrm{H}_{4}(g) \longrightarrow \mathrm{C}_{2} \mathrm{H}_{6}(g)\)
(a) Estimate the enthalpy of reaction, using the bond enthalpy values in table 9.4.
(b) Calculate the enthalpy of reaction using standard enthalpies of formation. (\(\Delta H_\mathrm f^\circ\) for \(\mathrm H_2\), \(\mathrm {C_2H_4}\), and \(\mathrm {C_2H_6}\) are 0, 52.3 kJ/mol, and –84.7 kJ/mol, respectively.)
