Chapter 13 Problem 67P

Question

What volume of each solution contains 0.15 mol of KCl?

(a) 0.255 M KCl

(b) 1.8 M KCl

(c) 0.995 M KCl

Solution

What volume of each solution contains 0.15 m

Solution:

Step 1

(a) 0.255 M KCl

Moles of solute = 0.15m , Molarity of KCl = 0.255M, Volume =  ?

Molarity is defined as number of moles of solute per litre solution i.e

Molarity (M)= moles of solute / litre solution

0.255 M = 0.15m/  litre solution

Litre solution(volume) = 0.15/ 0.255 = 0.588L
