Problem 11E

Your friend says that light passing the Sun is bent whether or not Earth experiences a solar eclipse. Do you agree or disagree, and why?

Step-by-Step Solution:
Step 1 of 3

The rays coming from the sun should curved by gravitation of sun.A solar eclipse occurs the when the moon gets between Earth and the sun, and the moon casts a shadow over Earth Annular solar eclipse depends on several factors. Another reason to light passing through sun is bent.the earth’s atmosphere bends the incoming rays of sunlight like a lence.so we see the image of the sun projected above the horizon before the physical sun is actually there. Hence light passing the Sun is bent and Earth experiences a solar eclipse.there is no any strong reason to say that light passing sun dose not bent.
