Bullies in middle school If one study is any indication, many middle school students are not shy about admitting aggressive behavior in school. A University of Illinois study on aggressive behavior surveyed 558 students in a midwestern middle school. When asked to describe their behavior in the last 30 days, 445 students said their behavior included physical aggression, social ridicule, teasing, name-calling, and issuing threats. This behavior was not defined as bullying in the questionnaire.12 (a) Is this evidence that more than three-quarters of the students at that middle school engage in bullying behavior? Carry out a signifi cance test to answer this question. State hypotheses, describe the sampling distribution, and fi nd the P-value. State your conclusions. (b) Does this study provide strong evidence of frequent bullying in Americas middle schools? Explain.
