Baseball Two equations can be used to track the position of a baseball seconds after it is hit. For instance, suppose h = -16t2 + 50t + 4.5 gives the height, in feet, of a baseball t seconds after it is hit and s = 103.9t gives the horizontal distance, in feet, of the ball from home plate seconds after it is hit. (See the following figure.) Use these equations to determine whether this particular baseball will clear a 10-foot fence positioned 360 feet from home plate.
