The Target or Training Heart Rate (THR) is a range of heart rate (measured in beats per minute) that enables a persons heart and lungs to benet the most from an aerobic workout. THR can be modeled by the formulawhere HRmax is the maximum heart rate that is deemed safe for the individual, HRrest is the resting heart rate, and I is the intensity of the workout that is reported as a percentage. Health. A female with a resting heart rate of 65 beats per minute has a maximum safe heart rate of 170 beats per minute. If her target heart rate is between 100 and 140 beats per minute, what percent intensities of workout can she consider?
