The inner layers of the heart wall are called the endocardium. It is composed of endothelium. The endothelium is an epithelial tissue which is continuous with blood vessels.

 The tunica media is composed of smooth muscle layers and with longitudinal muscle layers.

The external elastic membrane separates the tunica externa from the tunica media. The tunica externa is composed of the elastic and collagenous fibres. It is present in the veins possessing the muscle fibres.

Whereas lumen is the present in the interiors of blood vessels, alimentary canals, etc.
