Chapter 10, Problem 84

(choose chapter or problem)

Logarithmic Spiral   The curve represented by the equation \(r=a e^{b \theta}\), where a and b are constants, is called a logarithmic spiral. The figure shows the graph of \(r=e^{\theta / 6}\), \(-2 \pi \leq \theta \leq 2 \pi\). Find the area of the shaded region.

Text Transcription:

r=ae^b theta

r=e^theta/6

-2 pi <= theta <= 2 pi
