Normal carbonic anhydrase has zinc at its active site (see Figure B23.2, p. 1056). Suggest a structural reason why carbonic anhydrase synthesized with Ni2_, Fe2_, or Mn2_ in place of Zn2_ gives an enzyme with less catalytic efficiency.
