The system of differential equations is a model of two species competing for the same limited resource. Suppose that cl > a, and c2 > a2. Deduce from Theorem 6 that Nl(t) ultimately approaches zero if al c2 > a2cl, and N2(t) ultimately approaches zero if ale2 < a2cl.
