Recall the Jurassic Park data on page 77. Enter the actual numbers and estimated numbers into two calculator lists. (You may still have the data in list L1 and list L2 from Exercise 1.) Use list L3 to calculate the estimated number minus the actual number for each dinosaur species. [ See Calculator Note 1K for an explanation of how to use calculator lists in this way. ] a. What information does list L3 give you? b. Use list L2 and list L3 to create a scatter plot of points in the form (estimated number, estimated number actual number). Name a graphing window that provides a good display of your scatter plot. c. How many points are below the x-axis? What would points below the x-axis represent? d. Name the coordinates of the point farthest from the x-axis. What do these coordinates tell you?
