Ammonia is produced directly from nitrogen and hydrogen by using the Haber process, which is perhaps the most widely used industrial chemical reaction on Earth. The chemical reaction is N21g2 + 3 H21g2 2 NH31g2 (a) Use Table 8.4 to estimate the enthalpy change for the reaction. Is it exothermic or endothermic? (b) Calculate the enthalpy change as obtained using Hf values.
