The ohmmeter in Figure P 3.6-30 measures the equivalent resistance of the resistor circuit connected to the meter probes.

(a) Determine the value of the resistance R required to cause the equivalent resistance to be \(R_{\text {eq }}=12 \Omega\).

(b) Determine the value of the equivalent resistance when \(R=14 \Omega\).
