Eastern is ok. I transferred recently and so far it hasn't been bad. Ridiculous amount of crime on and near campus. Huge amount of sex offenders near campus. Advising is poor and they are not helpful with your questions. The charge for parking ($100 for a commuter hangtag) is way too high. It's not a bad education but I feel the cost is not equal (as in too high) to what I'm receiving. I don't find SEEUS to be helpful. I like the small class sizes and diversity. ...Continue reading

Overall, I love Eastern, but it definitely has its flaws. Very hilly so you'll get a good workout in. The food is eh. A lot of junk food but the salsa grill is good. Just pricy. The Rec center isn't bad, good hours. Parking is a nightmare though and they charge $100/semester for a pass. Secret: a shuttle bus runs from the stadium to campus & back for free! Pray-Harrold, where most of your classes will be, is great. So is the library. Security and town life is ok, parking is not. This school gives out good scholarships and is a friendly place to be However, if you want the true college experience, Eastern isn't the place. After being at EMU for four years, I can say I have watched campus security stay the same, even if they clams it's better. I love it here at eastern. It's a pretty average college, but has plenty of social groups from Frats to a quidditch club. Also has a great program for Business and Education, and is revamping their Engineering program. All the benefits of Ann Arbor too. However, I'm a commuter, and it's hard to get involved. The student center is very nice though and so is the library. I LOVE the facility. The healthcare admin curriculum needs help & the fact that I have to complete 400+ hours during internship in ONE semester while the social work program gets 2 semesters is BS. Getting help in finical aid, advising, and graduation guidance is near to impossible. Most of the teachers and faculty are completely disrespectful and do not want to go out of their way to their job. There are hidden fees everywhere. Small city feel, big city crime. It's also a good size campus without being too big. This school gives out good scholarships and is a friendly place to be However, if you want the true college experience, Eastern isn't the place. Support for sports isn't good, social policy for Greek Life almost ruins parties, etc. Overall, it's a nice school, but don't expect the stereotypical college things you see in movies. It's all blue-collar here. ...Continue reading

Classes are smaller, so teachers really get to know their students, and it helps a lot. ...Continue reading

EMU is a great university with many opportunities for advancement after graduation. Solid Greek Life options, Fun rec leagues, free sports events, solid free rec center. Close enough to Ann Arbor and U of M to enjoy most of the perks of U of M with out the cost of attendance. Easy to get great scholarships! EMU ...Continue reading

Ypsi Quality... But the tuition prices are a lot cheaper than other schools, especially after the thousands of dollars you receive in scholarship for average grades. VERY hard to progress if you work and have a scholarship with credit requirements over 12 credit hours. Classrooms need updating. Very hard to eat without meal plan, nearly impossible to be vegan or vegetarian or eat healthy on a budget. ...Continue reading

I really love it here. Professors are amazing and are very willing to help you. The grounds are nice, but some of the buildings are outdated and look like prisons. This campus has completely changed my life. It is small so it is easy and fast to get around. But as soon as you step off campus you better be careful. Ypsilanti is not a safe place. ...Continue reading

So many Ivy League professors at one of the lowest tuition rates in the state. The professors are top rate, very helpful and informed. Food is decent at the student center but dismal at the cafes. The wifi is good but the computer lab in the biggest building is terrible. Great at the library + wifi. I received a top notch education. ...Continue reading

I love EMU. The university leaders need to work on a few things. Ypsi is a great place because it's not too small and not too large. I find campus is decently diverse, and there is wonder people all around. There are small businesses within walking distance. Ypsi and Eastern are a great community to be apart of. ...Continue reading

This school does not represent education first rather money first. Dorms are always having problems. This week it's no heat in a Michigan Spring. Most RA's are rude and unprofessional. Other staff at the uni either don't do their job or are just useless. It's pretty much like you're on your own here. No assistance for disabled studen ...Continue reading

Very good school for academics, but the party scene is non-existent. Great experience. A lot of the teachers are okay, but there are some really awful ones. The amount of clubs is great. Food is pretty good at the Eagle Cafes. The size of campus is perfect for people who don't like to walk much. I'd recommend Eastern. ...Continue reading

The worst teacher I have had in my time at EMU. She told us multiple times how she did not want to be there, had completely unrealistic expectations, was rude & inconsistent in her criticisms, and called the police on a student who disagreed with her. Do NOT take this teacher unless you want a 100 level art class to become your highest priority. ...Continue reading
