Campus is average, student body is the best part. . The professors are terrible, especially in the college of business. Housing is money hungry and almost as disorganized as the registrar and financial aid officers. Be prepared to beg for your degree. This campus is incredibly racist as well (to non-minority's ). The food is pretty nasty. ...Continue reading

I have enjoyed my time here at PV. I went there for 2 semesters as an exchange student and it was great! EVERYONE is very friendly, but choose the right crowd. The organizations are what make students productive and successful. THERE ARE A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES TO NETWORK, even with professionals and as a media student I met a lot of famous people. I was nervous about going to an HBCU but I have made life ling friends here. The campus is in the middle of nowhere though take that as a grain of salt I guess. ...Continue reading

This is a place that produces productive people... The wifi SUCKS! Be ready to walk all around campus trying to find a good connection. The people have that southern hospitality. If you are an incoming freshman, DO NOT miss panther camp! you will meet all your friends and make great connections. One of the keys to success here is that you have to network with the students and the faculty around you. Also the university is undoing a lot of development and there are a lot of new things that be here in the next few years. (new football stadium, new recreation center, new business building...) ...Continue reading

Prairie View is sooooo amazing. If you are a future panther my word of advice would be, do not do anything last minute (Housing, Finacial aid, ect...), because they can be a little slow. In the end you get to gain a great HBCU experience. If u come to suceed u will succeed. Financial aid is a disaster but never give up. U need a lot of patients when attending pv else u might just get frustrated and give up. Overall a lovely campus with everything close except the college of business and music ie horbart. Nearest groceries store is in hampstead/Waller. ...Continue reading

Overall I love PV it is really easy to get involved with different organizations and clubs because there are not a lot of students. If you bust your butt you will get a lot out of Prairie View just like any 4-year college. Nothing will be handed to you like at Rice, UT, TAMU or U of H so don't think this HBCU is any different from them. You reap what you sow and that's all the truth I can give! So glad I decided to attend. Contrary to what you have heard, PVAMU is a wonderful school. The community feel is what I enjoyed most about the campus as well as the professors. They know their stuff and make sure you do too!! ...Continue reading

Basically, if you do not go to class often - do not take him. Your attendance is your grade. If you take him, ensure that you will have perfect attendance, even if you're sick - make an effort to go to class. He will lecture about something, then venture into a completely different topic. His lectures have nothing to do with the test. ...Continue reading
