It really feels like students are first at UNI. Great food, friendly people, perfect-sized campus, great class sizes, and wonderful professors who truly care about the students. It's a perfect size, and the people are incredibly nice! ...Continue reading

UNI is a great school full of opportunities, especially to education majors. If you've heard of the Midwest Hospitality, you definitely feel it here! Class sizes are just right on average as most professors will get to know your name (provided that you actually talk to them). You can say hi to a random person and they will respond in kind and ask how you're doing! I love it here! Go Panthers! ...Continue reading

I have really struggled finding a club to be in here because none of the ones I've been to seem to really do anything exciting. I've always felt safe on campus and I never had any problems walking back to my dorm at night. The students are for the most part respectful of their school and are happy to be here. I love reslife and everything purple and gold! ...Continue reading

UNI has a good atmosphere , pretty good wifi, decent or below average dining centers, perfect size for most small town kids in Iowa, and a overall good college The only big complaint I have is the WiFi. It is very moody and has occasional hiccups. If you can, try to get over to Piazza instead of Rialto. Rialto's not bad, but Piazza's way better. ...Continue reading

I love UNI, I can't imagine going to school anywhere else! The community here is amazing, and the size is just right. UNI has a beautiful campus that is close to home. Chose it because of it's size, cost, and available programs. I wish I had spent my entire 4 years here, I really enjoy UNI I have found success since transferring. The food is okay some days, but very homey. Heidi is the best teacher. She is so enthusiastic about teaching and makes you want to go out and make her proud. There were a lot of good teaching experiences with a variety of grades and the assignments are things you can take with you, not just pointless math problems. She has truly changed my outlook on teaching. She is a bit over the top, but she truly cares about you and your future as a teacher. Everything you do in her class, really is preparing you for your future. You create a lot of material, but all things that will be helpful when you're teaching. 100% recommend this teacher. ...Continue reading

I loved having Dr. Gaff as an instructor. He has a dry sense of humor, which I liked. The structure he teaches in is very helpful, and the information is actually pretty interesting. He gives study guides for his tests, so if you fill those out and study them well, you'll do fine. He was a great teacher and I learned a lot. I took it as a three hour night class, so there were long nights, with a million notes. . He makes the topics and lectures interesting enough. I know so much about monkeys now! Doesn't really teach the material just goes over examples. I did not think lectures accurately represented exams. He also will call on you during class and expect you to know the answers to all of his questions. Do well on the first exam which is really easy, because after that the next three are rough. Acct. is tough with the dirty deeds, most of the tests are multiple choice including an all multiple choice final which was quite hard. Very boring to listen to. Did end up curving the class 6% which got me to a B+. Not recommended. ...Continue reading

Overall good guy but awful professor. He goes through the chapter fast and spends 2 days on homework (which is mandatory, but for no credit). Doesn't know how to teach but is very knowledgeable about accounting. Read over the book hit on all the concepts from each chapter not just the problems. Wouldn't recommend. Lot better professors out there. then he spends the next 2 days going over homework (which is mandatory to do but it isn't graded. wtf) there are 13 quizzes (lowest 3 are dropped) 3 exams and a comprehensive final exam. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM. you will have to put in EXTRA EXTRA WORK outside of class. ...Continue reading

I took Financial Accounting with Schnor. Here's the deal: you might as well not go to class at all because you will hardly learn anything from her actually lecturing all year. Only problem is, there are in class assignments for points. Anyone that says this class is easy probably doesn't even have an A. Get ready to teach yourself using cengage. ...Continue reading

I am going on to my 5th year at UNI and I can honestly say that Professor O'Brien has been my favorite professor. His lectures are engaging and rarely require participation. He also asks that you purchase the notes from Copyworks so you can really focus on what he is saying. If you read the assigned pages, attend each lecture, and study a little, the course is easy and enjoyable ...Continue reading

Great professor, all freshman should try to take their Gen Eds with him. I thought the lectures were great, but if you're not interested in the subject they might drag on. Great personality, friendly. ...Continue reading

Grades on a huge curve, does not fail any students unless you literally do nothing. He often came came to class ill-prepared and did not seem to care about the quality of lectures. O'Brien has been my favorite professor at UNI. He can make somewhat dull material into a fun and interactive lecture. His class requires a cheap study guide from copy works that contains all class notes, so note taking is not necessary. Tests were hard and much of it was based off the book, but he gives lots of extra credit. ...Continue reading

Best professor I have ever had, always ready for the class and not tough exam. Easy to understand and helpful if you do not get something right away. Tests are easy and she lets you use the quiz's to help you study. She's a very nice lady. She always answers everyone's questions and she ALWAYS lets us out at least 20 minutes early. She's so nice & the best option for an accounting professor. Definitely recommend!!! ...Continue reading

Christ is alright. Mix of online and written homework, which really helps boost your grade if you don't do as well on tests. Tests are multiple choice with a few work problems. He is personally one of my favorite professors at UNI, and I would definitely recommend him! He has a very dry sense of humor and jokes around a little. There are random in class assignments that do impact your grade if missed. He WILL randomly call on people and will not take I don't know for an answer.
