Out of all my options in-state, Southern checked the most boxes. There is one easily reachable Starbucks on campus, and the post office is really life-saver in terms of time efficiency. The only thing that may be improved is the route of the shuttles, for me, which is very limited. ...Continue reading

Opportunity wise not the best choice depending on your major. expect that only if you are a major that doesnt require thinking which is odd. expect 300+ students for physics, history, some science. the school behaves as though poor performance is solely to blame on the students lack of effort. it's never the bad proffs. the good proffs always leave. Statesboro isn't the worst place. There are a lot of options for housing. I do wish that there were better places to shop as well as a wider variety of places to eat( ie. chipotle, on the border). The night life mainly consists of house parties. Considering the surround area you can't expect to many upscale clubs. So, Its the best of both worlds if you know how to BALANCE your lifestyle. ...Continue reading

Internet is really bad, but they say they are working on it which is good. People coming here expecting it to be a party school without realizing that every college is a party school. If you're looking for a school that makes you feel like you're attending a large university without the downsides, this is your school. It has tiny flaws. For the most part, all of the staff and faculty are very nice and helpful. The living atmosphere is great but there isn't that much to do in Statesboro. Georgia Southern is a great school! The dorms are more spacious than other schools, the campus is compact and beautiful, and you get great profs overall for a cheap price. Come here if you're interested in research! Lots of students orgs, too! People are awesome, classes aren't too bad, and the campus is nice. Georgia Southern is exactly what it claims to be- a large-scale, small-feel university. If you get involved, it'll be the best school you could want to go to. It isn't far from Savannah or the beach which is nice, but Statesboro is a small town, and it definitely feels like it. it did lose quite a few bars and clubs, but thats not what i'm here for, right? great teaching staff for the most part. very community oriented. you can either make it a blast or sit in your apartment & waste away. to each his own. ...Continue reading
