A wire carrying a 28.0-A current bends through a right angle. Consider two 2.00-mm segments of wire, each 3.00 cm from the bend (Fig. E28.15). Find the magnitude and direction of the magnetic field these two segments produce at point P, which is midway between them

According to Biot- Savart's law, the magnetic field induction of a current carrying loop is

Here  is the strength of the current,  is the length of the element,  is the distance from the conductor to the imagined point and  is the angle between the length of the element and the imagined part is the magnetic permeability of the free space.

The direction of magnetic field is located by using Amperes right hand thumb rule. From this rule fore fingers indicates current direction and curl of remaining fingers indicates direction of the magnetic field.
