Chapter 10, Problem 24E(choose chapter or problem)
Consider the following equilibrium:
\(2 \mathrm{H}_2(g)+\mathrm{S}_2(g) \rightleftharpoons 2 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{~S}(g) \quad K_c=1.08 \times 10^7 \text { at } 700{ }^{\circ} \mathrm{C}\)
(a) Calculate \(K_p\).
(b) Does the equilibrium mixture contain mostly \(\mathrm{H}_2\) and \(\mathrm{S}_2\) or mostly \(\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{~S}\)?
(c) Calculate the values of \(K_c\) and \(K_p\) if you rewrote the balanced chemical equation with 1 mol \(\mathrm{H}_2(\mathrm{~g})\) instead of 2 mol.
