The skeletal structures are the graphical representation of the arrangement of atoms and bonds in a compound or molecule.

        In the skeletal structure, the carbon-carbon bonds are shown as lines. A carbon atom is represented by a vertex and each carbon atom is understood to be bonded to the appropriate number of hydrogens to satisfy the valency of carbon.
