But from ohm’s law we know that, V = IR-------------(2) So, equation (1) can be rewritten as, P = I R = I × IR = I × V ----------------(3) So, by equation (3), Power of the hair dryer which operates on 120 Volts and draws 10 A current will be, power = 10 × 120 = 1200 ampere.volts = 1200 jules. CONCLUSION: The power of the hair dryer is 1200 watts.
