Step 1:

To add to heat to a substance without raising its temperature, heat has to be supplied at the boiling point of that the substance

When we add heat at the boiling point , the temperature added is used in converting the substance to gaseous state

Eg : the boiling point  temperature of water is , say we keep heating water even after it has reached , the temperature of water does not increase further,  the waters starts to become steam . and then get evaporated
