Chapter 13 Problem 35

Question

Find the number of moles in 2.00 L of gas at 35.0ºC and under \(7.41 \times 10^{7} \mathrm{~N} / \mathrm{m}^{2}\) of pressure.

Solution

Step 1 of 3

The equation for the ideal gas law is:

\(PV = nRT\)

Here, P is the pressure, V is the volume, n is the number of moles of atoms of molecules, R is the gas constant, and T is the temperature.

The temperature of the gas on the Kelvin scale with respect to the Celsius scale is given as follows:

\(T = 35 + 273.15\)
