In this new version, the right-hand axis shows the number of people living with AIDS. a. Find something encouraging to say about these data by using numerical evidence, including estimated average rates of change. b. Find numerical support for something discouraging to say about the data. c. How might we explain the enormous increase in new AIDS cases reported from 1985 to a peak in 19921993, and the drop-off the following year?
