Questions & Answers

QUESTION:

Your car is accelerating from a stop.

ANSWER:

Step 1 of 3

If a car is accelerating on the right side from a rest position, then there will be opposing frictional force acting between the tyres and the surface of the track.

Similarly, a perpendicular opposing force known as normal force will act perpendicular to the track surface. This normal force will be exactly equal to the downward force due to the weight of the car.
