When the car i s a t res t a t a stop sign the string is vertical. As the car accelerates away from the light, does the string going to the balloon lean forward, lean backward, or remain vertical?

When the automobile speeds ahead, the air within the vehicle transfers to the rear, pressing the occupants back into their seats, causing the air pressure within the vehicle to rise from front to rear. The helium filled balloon travels in the direction of decreasing pressure due to buoyancy. As a result, the balloon slides closer to the front of the car.
