The internal energy of a system can be defined as the totality of microscopic energies possessed by the molecules such as, translational energy, vibrational energy and potential energy due to intermolecular forces of a system.

Heat is the form of energy that can be transferred from one system to another even at the expense of loss of one form energy.

Thermal energy is an energy generated due to the random motion of molecules inside a system. Or, in other words, thermal energy is due to the kinetic energy of the motion of the molecules.
