Try this in the bathtub or when yourewashing dishes: Lower a drinking glass, mouthdownward, over a small floating object. Whatdo you observe? How deep must the glass bepushed in order to compress the enclosed air tohalf its volume? (You wont be able to do this inyour bathtub unless its 10.3 m deep!)
