We have to find the percent error in calculating the specific volume of superheated ammonia, if the ideal gas model is used to represent the behavior and also using the generalized compressibility chart.

The specific volume of superheated ammonia  at 100 F, 80 lbf/in2 can be found from the Table F.8.2 in the book.

The specific volume of superheated ammonia using ideal gas equation is given by

where,

gas constant of ammonia

       = 90.72 ft-lbf/lbm R

F = 559.67 R

80 lbf/in2
