Chapter 2 Problem 10E

Question

Section 2.4 Motion with Constant Acceleration

Figure Ex2.7 showed the velocity graph of blood in the aorta. Estimate the blood’s acceleration during each phase of the motion, speeding up and slowing down.

Solution

Step 1 of 2

Initial the blood in the aorta is at zero \(\mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}\) at zero seconds, then the at \(0.1 \mathrm{~s}\) the blood starts to increase to \(0.2 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}\) then at constant speed between \(0.1 \mathrm{~s}\) and \(0.2 \mathrm{~s}\) the blood increase from \(0.2 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}\) to maximum that is \(0.8 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}\).
