Chapter 23 Problem 26

Question

Problem 26CQ

Does inductance depend on current, frequency, or both? What about inductive reactance?

Solution

Solution 26CQ

The inductance of an inductor depends upon its construction and is a constant for a given inductor. In other terms, the inductance of the inductor is a constant and does not depend on the current or on the frequency.

The inductive reactance on the other hand is obtained as the product of inductance and the angular frequency of the input power.
